
NEW HAVEN, CT — A 27-year-old New Haven man was shot in the penis on Huntington Street Tuesday night, according to police.
The shooting happened in the 400 block shortly before 9 p.m. said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman. The victim arrived at the hospital shortly after 9 p.m.
Minutes later someone reported that a Nissan Versa crashed into a utility pole near Goodrich Street and Shelton Avenue. The caller described the fleeing driver as a "she." To sign up for New Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.

Police spoke to the pair of people who dropped the victim off at the hospital.
"They said they knew nothing of the shooting other than they spotted the victim bent over, screaming he’d been shot in the penis, so they gave him a ride to the hospital," Hartman said.

The victim didn't answer the detective's questions.
"A video of evidentiary value was obtained," Hartman said. "It showed the crashed Nissan may have been involved and that there may have been more than one shooter."
The Nissan was stolen from Milford.
