Man Shot Inside Lobby Of Grand Avenue Apartment Building: Police

NEW HAVEN, CT — Tuesday night around 9, a man was shot inside the lobby of the Mill River Crossing Apartment Complex, police said.
A 911 call brought cops to 657 Grand Ave., in Fair Haven, for a report of a shooting inside the building, according to New Haven police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell. Taken by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment, the gunshot victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
During the investigation, patrol officers later learned the crime scene was in the rear lot of the complex, Dell said. Detectives spoke with witnesses, reviewed video surveillance footage, and collected evidence, Dell said.

In total, police recovered seven fired cartridge casings from the scene, which are now being analyzed, Dell said.
