Man Shot In Leg In New Haven, Police Search For Suspect
New Haven authorities said the man was shot Friday inside a vehicle, which drove away and was later found abandoned near York Street.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man was shot in the leg in New Haven on Friday, and police are asking for the public's help locating a possible suspect.
According to New Haven police, an officer was patrolling near the intersection of Townsend Avenue and Main Street when he heard gunshots. Moments later, police said a man exited a nearby vehicle and got into the officer's patrol car, stating that he had been shot.
Police said the nearby vehicle quickly drove away, prompting authorities to search the area. The vehicle was later found abandoned near York Street, police said.

According to police, the victim was shot inside the car. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg.
