Man Stabbed At Train Station In New Haven: Police

A man was hospitalized after being stabbed at a train station in New Haven, according to police.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man was hospitalized after being stabbed early Sunday morning at the Union Avenue train station in New Haven, according to police.

Police received a call around 12:10 a.m. on July 16 from the security officer at the train station regarding a man who was stabbed, according to New Haven Police Captain Rose J. Dell. Patrol units were immediately dispatched to the scene, according to Dell.

Dell said arriving officers found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds on the left side of the train station. He was immediately taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment where he was listed as stable with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Dell.

“Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and the Bureau of Identification arrived at the location to review video surveillance, collect evidence, and interview witnesses,” Dell wrote in a news release. “A large knife was located on the scene and seized as evidence.”
