Man Walking In I-91 Travel Lane Late Sunday, Hit, Killed By 3 Cars: PD

A man police said was walking in the travel lane of I-91 S, near exit 3 in New Haven, was struck, killed by 3 vehicles around 10 p.m.: CSP

NEW HAVEN, CT —A man was walking in a travel lane of Interstate 91 on the southbound side just north of exit 3 and was struck and killed by three vehicles Sunday just before 10 p.m., a report reads.

The man was not identified by police. According to an accident summary provided by Connecticut State Police, the first car, a Honda Pilot driven by a New Haven resident, was traveling in the right center lane of four lanes when it "collided with the pedestrian" in the right center lane.

As a result of the collision, the pedestrian was thrown into the left center lane, where he was run over by a second car, a Mini Cooper with Georgia tags, and then a third car, a Toyota Corolla. The person was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.

None of the three drivers were injured, state police said.
