Murder Hit Results In 7 Year Sentence For New Haven Gang Member

The man was federally charged after ordering a murder.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A city gang member was sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for his role in crimes, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.

Anthony Hartsell aka "Pop Off," 37, of New Haven was a member of the Red Side Guerilla Brims, a Blood gang sect in New Haven.

Hartsell was one of the people who ordered the murder of Darrick Cooper, according to the attorney's office. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering. He will serve his federal sentence after completing an unrelated state sentence.

A total of 21 people were convicted on federal charges related to RSGB.
