New Haven 18-Year-Old Shot On Thompson Street Monday: Police

Cops found the gunshot victim between Newhall St. and Shelton Ave. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A teen was shot late Monday afternoon on Thompson Street, police said.

It was just before 4:30 p.m., when police got a Shotspotter alert of gunfire on Thompson Street, between Newhall Street and Shelton Avenue, according to spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway.

When cops got there, they found an 18-year-old New Haven man shot, Shumway said. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Bureau of Identification responded to the scene and collected ballistic evidence. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
