New Haven Assistant PD Chief To Retire

Assistant Police Chief Archie Generoso's law enforcement career spans four decades.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Assistant Police Chief Archie Generoso announced he will retire effect Feb. 3. His law enforcement career spans 43 years and he is a New Haven native.

Generoso joined the New Haven Police Department in 1975 and retired after 20 years, according to the New Haven Independent. He spent another 15 years as an investigator for the state prosecutor's office and came back to New Haven six years ago to serve as an assistant chief under then Chief Dean Esserman.

Sgt. Shafiq Abdussabur will also retire after 21.5 years with the department.
