New Haven Car Thief Caught After Crash: PD
The man hit two police vehicles during the apprehension, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Officers arrested a suspected car thief after a pursuit and crash, accoridng to police.
Officer Thomas Glynn was traveling on Dixwell Avenue Dec. 4 when he noticed a stolen car at a traffic light. He followed the car and called for backup, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
Officers attempted to pull over the driver, but the driver put the car in reverse and smashed into a police cruiser, Hartman said. He then put the vehicle into drive and hit an unmarked police vehicle.

The pursuit was ordered terminated and the stolen Subaru then slammed into another vehicle at the intersection of Grand Avenue and East Street, Hartman said.
Raekwon McLean took off running, but was apprehended after he tripped and fell.

"The Subaru’s blue-book value is about twelve grand – at least before Mclean used it in demolition derby fashion, Hartman said. "Mclean was arrested and charged with first degree larceny, interfering, engaging police in a pursuit, reckless driving, two counts of criminal attempt to commit assault on a peace officer, evading responsibility and following too close."
