New Haven Cops Say Man Shot Himself On Quinnipiac Avenue Overnight

It was 2:15 a.m., when cops got a call about a gunshot victim on the 1000 block of Quinnipiac Ave., now hospitalized in critical condition.

NEW HAVEN, CT — An overnight shooting on Quinnipiac Avenue is being investigated by police.

According to New Haven police spokesperson Sgt. Cherelle D. Carr, at around 2:15 a.m., police got a report of a gunshot victim in the 1000 block of Quinnipiac Avenue. When firefighters got there, they found a man suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and he was "immediately transported" to Yale New Haven Hospital, Carr said.

Hospital medical staff told police the man suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen and is in critical but stable condition, Carr said.
