New Haven K2 Arrestees Revealed

Two men were arrested in connection with the mass overdose in New Haven.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Police have released details on two men arrested in connection with the New Haven mass overdose that sickened 47 individuals, some of whom overdosed multiple times.

All K2 samples sent to the Drug Enforcement Agency for testing came up positive for Fubinaca, a powerful synthetic cannabinoid, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.

Flex Melendez, 37, of New Haven was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell/distribute. It is his 38th arrest, Hartman said. To sign up for New Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.
