New Haven Man Arrested Twice Within 90 Minutes: Milford PD
Police say the man is accused of stealing items from two local businesses.

MILFORD, CT — A New Haven man is accused of being arrested twice in the same day for shoplifting, police said. On June 16, police responded to Sunglass Hut, 1201 Boston Post Road on a report of a shoplifting.
Investigation led to the arrest of Charles Stevenson, 44, of Chatham Street in New Haven, who is accused of taking about $280 worth of items without paying, police said. He was initially held in lieu of a $2,500 bond, police said, but then was later released.
Less than 90 minutes later, police received a shoplifting complaint at Target. Investigation led to the arrest of Stevenson, who is accused of taking about $260 worth of items from the store without paying, police said. He attempted to avoid arrest and struggled with police before being arrested, police said.

He is charged with two counts of sixth-degree larceny, second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an arrest.
