New Haven Man Caught Pumping Gas Into Stolen Car: Hamden Police
Police say the man was 'acting suspiciously' when he saw an officer while he was pumping gas into a stolen vehicle at 2:30 a.m.

HAMDEN, CT — A New Haven man was arrested early Tuesday morning after police saw him filling up a stolen car with gas at a gas station in Hamden. At about 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 18, Officer Keron Bryce saw Jevon Langley acting suspiciously in the “Go On Gas” parking lot, according to Capt. Ronald Smith.
Smith said Langley was pumping gas into a vehicle that was stolen out of New Haven on Sept. 11 and he walked away from it when he saw Officer Bryce. Langley was arrested shortly thereafter in the vicinity of Arch Street, according to Smith.
Langley, 20, of Sherman Avenue in New Haven, was charged with third-degree larceny. He was held on a $7,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Sept. 28.
