New Haven Man Gets 13 Years For Gun/Robbery Offenses
He shot a person in an attempt to rob him of marijuana and money.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A city man was sentenced to 13 years in federal prison for robbery and firearm offenses. Thomas Johnson, 27, shot a person as they exited a store in an attempt to steal marijuana and money.
He pleaded guilty to one count of Hobbs Act robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime. The shooting occurred on June 30, 2016. Another victim was hit in the nose by Johnson's accomplice.
Johnson was arrested in 2016 during a motor vehicle stop. He was found with the firearm used in the robbery.
