New Haven Man, Now 69, Guilty Of Raping 2 Kids Between 2007, 2012: PD
A Superior Court jury found Carlos Gomez guilty of 5 counts of 1st-degree sexual assault and 2 counts of risk of injury to a child: NHPD

NEW HAVEN, CT — A jury found a 69-year-old New Haven man guilty of raping two children under 10 between 2007 and 2012, according to a New Haven police spokesperson.
Officer Christian Bruckheart, who was the investigating officer, noted that it was New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. who made the announcement.
Carlos Gomez, was found guilty of five counts of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a child, officials said.

According to Doyle, evidence at trial showed Gomez sexually assaulted the two young children and that two separate cases were joined for a consolidated trial before a jury in New Haven Superior Court, with the Honorable Eliot D. Prescott presiding.
Gomez is set to be sentenced May 24.
