New Haven Man Sentenced For Illegal Gun Possession

He was convicted in 2014 on a gun charge.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man was sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for illegal possession of a firearm.

Jahmal Gibbs, 21, was sentenced in U.S. District court after Gibbs was arrested in a Henry Street apartment with a loaded .357 caliber revolver hidden nearby in February 2016, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.

Gibbs was convicted of a state felony firearm offense in September 2014. He pleaded guilty to the federal account in November 2016.
