New Haven, State PD Sued After Protest
The protest involved partially blocking traffic on Route 34.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man filed a federal lawsuit against the City of New Haven along with individual city and state police officers after being pepper-sprayed and arrested during a 2017 protest against President Donald Trump. Norman Clement helped organize the protest that blocked part of Route 34.
Clement was arrested and charged with four misdemeanors and an infraction. The four misdemeanors were dropped by the state attorney's office and he had to do five hours of community service, according to the New Haven Independent.
Clement alleges in the lawsuit that he had to do five months of physical therapy after being injured during the arrest and he still suffers from pain.
