New Haven Student Gets Perfect Score On AP Chemistry Exam
Prastik Mohanraj is only one of three students in the world to achieve a perfect score on the test.

NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven Engineering and Science University Magnet School student Prastik Mohanraj not only received top marks for on his AP chemistry exam, but did so with a perfect score. He is only one of three students in the world to achieve the feat.
“We at ESUMS are extremely proud of Prastik, but not only because of his academic success," said Principal Medria Blue-Ellis. "Prastik has a character that reaches far beyond his above average intellect. He recognizes and appreciates the gifts that all people have to offer this world, and seeks to use his talents to bring those gifts to light."
It's far from Mohanraj's only academic achievement. He has earned annual national awards in a variety of subjects including history, math and debate, according to ESUMS. He also had an academic paper published in the Cornell University Library Journal.

"This outstanding accomplishment is likely a direct reflection of the top quality education being offered at Engineering & Science University Magnet Middle and High School," The College Board wrote in a congratulatory letter.
The school is a public magnet school located in West Haven under the New Haven Public Schools district. It is a college preparatory middle and high school wit ha focus on STEM programs.
