New Haven's Somos Handcrafted Arepas To Open New Spot In Shelton

NEW HAVEN, CT — Somos Handcrafted Arepas will open a new location, its second, in Shelton, co-owner Alejandro Cordido recently announced on social media.

The restaurant, based in New Haven, serves Venezuelan style cuisine, and Cordido told The Hour that he hopes the Shelton spot will be open by April.

In recent months, Shelton has seen announcements for a new Pokemoto; the return of a Panera Bread; and a new Tocomida. Nearby Ansonia also is getting a new Zuppardi's Apizza.

"Shelton is like a hidden gem when it comes to food," Cordido told The Hour.
