Obituary: Alfonso G. Accettullo, 75
He opened, along with his brothers, the legendary "Geppi's Restaurant" a cornerstone of Italian food and culture in New Haven for many years

Alfonso Accettullo known to many as “Geppi” and “Joe” sailed off to the eternal sunset surrounded by his loving family on May 27, 2018. Born in Montecorvino Rovella SA, Italy on August 2, 1942. He journeyed to New Haven, Connecticut in the late 1960s where he joined his brother Bruno and together they worked in the auto body industry.
Being a man of many talents he went on to open along with his brothers Bruno and Giancarlo the legendary “Geppi’s Restaurant” a cornerstone of Italian food and culture in New Haven for many years. From there he branched off and opened “Joseph’s Restaurant” in Hamden and “Panevino” in Branford. He was also an avid sailor and loved tending his garden with his furry companions Blu and Bella by his side. He’ll be most remembered for his passion for cooking and playing his guitar.

He leaves behind his loving wife Kathleen, son Joseph Raymond of Hamden, daughter Marisa (Saverio) Guerrera of Watertown, Brothers Bruno Accettullo of Seattle Wa and Giancarlo (Susan) Accettullo of New Haven. He also leaves behind many cherished family members and friends including his nephew Matthew Accettullo. He was predeceased by his parents Domenico and Rosa Accettullo.
Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden Saturday at 9:30 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rita Church. Calling hours are Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Autism Services and Resources of Connecticut (ASCR).
