Overnight Howard Avenue 2-Alarm 'Heavy' Fire Displaces 1 Family
At 12:40 a.m., New Haven firefighters responded to 217 Howard Ave. where an occupant was trapped, then rescued, from the second floor.
NEW HAVEN, CT —With just days to go before Christmas, an overnight two-alarm fire in a Howard Avenue two-family wood frame home displaced a family, officials said.
At around 12:40 a.m., New Haven Fire Department Engine Company 11 responded to 217 Howard Ave., between 2nd and 3rd streets, for a report of heavy fire with an occupant trapped, and then rescued, from the second floor.
It's reported that several people were taken to the hospital for "smoke-related concerns."

The American Red Cross is helping to "meet immediate needs"of one family, an adult, and a child forced from their home.
