Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Overnight Sherman Parkway Hit & Run: PD
At 3 a.m., a passerby found a bloodied man in the roadway, victim of a hit & run. Rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead, per cops.

NEW HAVEN, CT —At 3 a.m. Wednesday, police and firefighters were called to Sherman Parkway near West Division Street after a "passerby found a man on the ground bleeding from his head," New Haven police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell said.
When cops got there, they found the man in the middle of the roadway near the double yellow line, unconscious and suffering from significant injuries, Dell said. Rushed to Yale-New Haven Hospital, the man was pronounced dead, she said. The person's identity is unknown.
Police couldn't find the involved vehicle or any witnesses to the crash, Dell said.

"There may be video surveillance on a home in the area, but no one answered the knock on the door due to the late hour," Dell said. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy, Dell said.
According to Dell, the New Haven Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team was activated and have completed their initial on-scene investigation as investigators continue to search for
witnesses and video surveillance.
