Retired New Haven Oral Surgeon Settles False Claim Allegations
He paid more than $250,000 to settle the allegations that he falsely billed Medicaid.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A retired New Haven oral surgeon and his practice agreed to pay more than $250,000 to settle allegations that they violated federal and state false claim laws.
Robert Sorrentino owned and operated Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Associates P.C. He sold his practice and retired in 2014.
The U.S. Attorney's office alleged that Sorrentino and OMSA falsely billed Medicaid for oral surgery, including deep sedation or general anesthesia services that were not provided. The office also alleged that not medically necessary surgeries were performed.
