Reward Offered For Teen's New Haven Murder Info

Police believe the shooting wasn't random and that the teen wasn't the intended target.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The State Attorney's office is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for murdering Jericho Scott, 16.

Scott was shot April 19, 2015 in the area of Exchange Street and Blatchely Avenue. He was seated in a parked vehicle near his residence when he was shot, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman. Two others were shot and survived

Investigators believe the crime wasn't random and that someone in the group was targeting, but not Scott.

"The first responding Officers reported a large number of people who were at the scene," Hartman said. "We believe there are many witnesses who have not yet come forward to report what they’d seen and heard."
