Robert Jermaine Tyson, 40, longtime resident of New Haven, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017. He was born in New Haven, CT to Gwendolyn Tyson on June 24, 1977. Rob was a 2001 graduate of Wheaton College and a 2008 graduate of the CT Police Academy. He was a Sergeant with the Department of Motor Vehicles and previously worked as a gym teacher at Amistad Academy.
Besides his mother, Robert leaves to cherish his memory, fiancé, Andrea Grilo; brother, Darryl Tyson; sister, Jamie Tyson; god brother Scott Huckaby; nieces, Emani Johnson and Royal Tyson; grandmother, Lillian Tyson; godmother, Niecy Ashe; and a host of relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving mentor, Richard Kaliszewski.
