Rollover Crash, Shooting Occur Wednesday Night In New Haven

The unrelated incidents kept police busy Wednesday night.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man sustained minor injuries in a rollover crash Wednesday night on Springside Avenue near West Rock Ridge State Park.

The crash occurred around 9:12 p.m. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the road was closed to traffic, but reopened during the night, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.

Police also investigated an unrelated shooting in the 200 block of Dixwell Avenue. A city man had been shot several times in the face, but was conscious and alert, Hartman said.

The victim told police he was sitting in his car when the window was shattered. His injuries are non-life threatening. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact police at 203-946-6304.
