He opened his own shoe repair shop in Bethel in 2007 and another one in Southbury in 2011. This will be his third shoe repair location.
“I wanted to bring my passion and experience of 30 years of shoe repair to those who struggle with the idea of having no hope for their favorite pair of shoes or handbag to the heart of downtown New Haven,” Guanmantari said. “I chose the Whitney-Audubon Retail & Arts District as I love the idea of people being able to drop off their shoes on their lunch break and pick them up after work. We are easy to work with and accessible.”
