Southern Holds Training In Autism For Foster Families Cancelled

The SCSU Center of Excellence on Autism Spectrum Disorders​ program that was slated for Saturday has been canceled.

Southern Connecticut State University Center of Excellence on Autism Spectrum Disorders is hosting a series of trainings for foster families of children with autism spectrum disorder throughout the Greater New Haven region, in partnership with the Children's Community Program.

The program will develop and deliver a series of ten training modules, provide tool kits and resources for foster families, and conduct follow-up consultations to assist in continuing support for both CCP staff and foster parent needs.

The comprehensive training session will cover an introduction to autism, communication supports, accessing services and referral supports, and behavior support.

The training will be held Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m, on the SCSU campus, 555 Fitch St., New Haven.
