Suspected New Haven Shooter Arrest Warrant Ready

The shooting happened after the completion of the city's Freddie Fixer Parade.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A city man will be formally arrested in the near future after detectives secured an arrest warrant that will charge him with a shooting that occurred shortly after the Freddie Fixer Parade.

The parade and shooting weren't connected, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman. A man was shot in the rear of the Dixwell Plaza on May 21 and was taken to the hospital by paramedics. Another person tried to drive the victim to the hospital, but the vehicle was stopped by police.

"In the months since the assault, detectives have spent a lot of time running down leads and interviewing folks in the know about this case," Hartman said. "Evidence has been scrutinized and tested."
