Teen Shot In Daylight Drive-By, Suffered Gunshot Wound To His Hand: PD

Friday afternoon, a 17-year-old New Haven boy was standing on Townsend Street outside his home when he was shot, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Townsend Street resident, 17, was standing outside his home Friday afternoon when he was shot, police said.

It was just before 4:30 p.m., when the boy was shot in the hand "by someone driving by in a vehicle," he told officers, according to New Haven police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell.

Taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, medical staff told police that the gunshot wound was not life-threatening, Dell said.
