United Illuminating Announces Maintenance Advisory For New Haven

The utility company cautions that there may be a brief power outage.

NEW HAVEN, CT — United Illuminating customers in some areas of New Haven and Hamden may experience a brief power outage during the early morning hours on Saturday, Sept. 30. United Illuminating will be conducting system testing at its Broadway electrical substation in New Haven to maintain the reliability of its energy grid.

During this procedure, which will be conducted between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., customers in some areas of New Haven and Hamden may experience a brief power outage. The outage is expected to last less than 5 minutes, officials said.

“Customers may wish to check clocks and electronic devices that typically need to be reset following an outage,” UI officials said in the news release. “This work is part of UI’s ongoing commitment to providing a safe, reliable energy grid that’s capable of meeting the needs of its customers and communities now and into the future.”
