Walking His Dog On Dixwell Ave., New Haven Man, 30, Shot In Leg: PD

It was around 11 p.m. when the man "noticed" that his leg was bleeding, police said, adding the dog-walking man suffered 2 gunshot wounds.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man walking his dog on Dixwell Avenue Wednesday night "noticed that he was bleeding from his left leg," and then realized he'd been shot, police said.

At around 11 p.m., the 30-year-old New Haven resident was walking on Dixwell near Brewster Street when he suffered two gunshot wounds to his leg, according to police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell. She said the man "sought treatment at the St. Raphael’s campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Dell said hospital medical staff told cops that the injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
