'Wolverine' Sentenced for Fatal Hit-and-Run
A prosecutor said he never expressed remorse for his actions.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man known as "Wolverine' was sentenced to four years in prison for a fatal hit-and-run in the city.
Edin Antonio Calderon pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter, according to the New Haven Register. His distinctive set of teeth helped police track him down in the aftermath of the crash.
The crash happened on Grand Avenue between Poplar and Ferry Streets March 7, 2016. Michael Kucher, 54, was struck and died as a result of his injuries.

Supervisory Assistant State's Attorney David Strollo said Calderon didn't express remorse for his actions, according to the Register.
A witness recognized Calderon and said he was known as "Wolverine" because of his teeth and short stocky build.

Police were dispatched to a Chapel Street address March 8, 2016 and recovered the suspected vehicle. Sgt. Rose Dell, a crash specialist obtained the tow record of the vehicle and found it had been towed in August 2015. She got the owner's information.
Dell and Sgt. Carlos Maldonado located and interviewed the car' owner who said he sold it.
Dell and new case partner Sgt. David Zannelli from homicide continued the search to find the current owner through many interviews and the assistance of many Spanish-speaking officers.
Fair Haven patrol Officer Elvin Rivera acted on a tip and found Antonio Calderon, 27, at a local bar.
