NEW HAVEN, CT — A Farren Avenue woman, who is alleged to have threatened a person with a gun, barricaded herself in her home Wednesday night when police arrived, authorities said. She'd hours later be taken to the hospital and charged, according to police spokesperson Capt. Rose Dell.

It was just before 10 p.m. when cops got a call from a person who said their neighbor pulled a gun. When cops got there and were attempting to speak with the caller, when they were "interrupted by the alleged offender who emerged from her apartment brandishing a black handgun," Dell said.

Despite attempts to issue commands, the woman retreated inside her apartment and barricaded herself, police said.
