Women Fight Over Boyfriend, One Stabbed in New Haven: PD

Police are searching for the reported stabber.

NEW HAVEN, CT—Police are searching for a woman who goes by the name "Champagne" after she reportedly stabbed another woman over a man, according to police.

Police responded to a stabbing at a house party on Blatchley Avenue around 1 a.m. Aug. 28, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.

The 31-year-old victim was bleeding from a cut on her arm. The victim told police she arrived at the party and saw someone she thinks goes by the name Champagne. She suspects Champagne and her boyfriend are having an affair.

She anticipated a fight would ensue between the two and she was right.

Champagne pulled out a weapon and stabbed the victim. The victim noticed she was bleeding and collapsed, Hartman said. The wounds weren't life-threatening.

Champagne left the party. She was described as a black woman with a light complexion. She stands about 5’03” and weighs about 170 pounds. She’s in her late twenties and has long straight black hair, parted in the middle and was last seen wearing white shorts and a white top.
