Yale PD Chief Increases Patrols After Grad Student Sexually Assaulted

A Yale grad student living on the 300-block of Elm Street was sexually assaulted at gunpoint at around 2 a.m. Tuesday, Yale PD Chief said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — It was around 2 a.m. Tuesday when a sleeping graduate student living off-campus on Elm Street was awakened to a man pointing a gun at them, Yale University Police Chief Anthony Campbell said. The student was then sexually assaulted, he said.

The New Haven Police Department is investigating the sexual assault.

The "survivor" of the assault was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, he said.

Campbell said University police have increased patrols in the area and are helping New Haven cops in their investigation.
