Burglars Smash Way Into Newington Smoke Shop

NEWINGTON, CT — Burglars broke into a local smoke shop Wednesday morning and made off with merchandise taken from the store's shelves, according to police.

The Newington Police Department said, at about 3:15 a.m., police were called to the Cloud 9 Smoke Shop, 451 New Britain Ave., for a burglary report.

When officers arrived, they discovered the glass front door was broken.

Police said video surveillance showed three males, all wearing black masks enter the business.

The NPD said one male was wearing a blue jacket or hooded sweatshirt and the other two were wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts.

Police said the video depicts the suspects breaking the front door glass, entering the store, and stealing a yet-to-be-determined amount of merchandise off the shelves.

The Newington Police Department asks nearby residents to check their home video surveillance systems for suspicious behavior.
