Man Charged In Shooting That Hit Newington Boy's Bed
Detectives have charged a New Britain man in connection with the incident, which was on John Street in Newington last July.
NEWINGTON, CT — A New Britain man has been charged in connection with a shooting last summer in a Newington neighborhood that nearly hit a 9-year-old boy in his bedroom.
According to the Newington Police Department Friday, detectives have charged Mikolaj Skwarek of New Britain in connection with the incident, which was on John Street in Newington.
Police did not give an age for the suspect.

Skwarek is accused of firing a bullet into a residence on John Street the night of July 13, 2022.
The bullet entered the bedroom of a 9-year-old child and traveled through the bed frame belonging to the youngster, police said.

Luckily, there were no injuries reported from the shooting.
Skwarek was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment; unlawful discharge of firearm; risk of injury to a minor; carrying a pistol without a permit; and first-degree criminal mischief.
Skwarek was detained on $150,000 bond and was arraigned in New Britain Superior Court Friday.
