Man Dragged By Car On Berlin Turnpike In Newington: PD

NEWINGTON, CT — A man was seriously injured over the weekend after being dragged by a car on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, local police said Monday morning.

Later, the occupants of that car were being treated for gunshot wounds at a New Britain hospital, police said.

According to the Newington Police Department, officers were called at about 7:22 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, for a report of a person being dragged by a car on the well-traveled roadway, not far from a Burger King fast food restaurant.

Police said a male suffering from serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries was found at the Citgo gas station a short distance away and was transported to an area hospital.

The suspect vehicle associated with this incident was described by witnesses as a black Dodge Charger, police said.

A short time later, two individuals arrived at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain suffering from gunshot wounds and they were dropped off at the hospital by a black Dodge Charger, police said.

According to the NPD, the vehicle believed to have been associated with these incidents has been recovered and no arrests have been made.
