Newington Man Charged With Manslaughter in Double Fatal Crash
A Newington man was intoxicated when he collided head-on with another vehicle, killing two people in September.

FARMINGTON, CT — A Newington man was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with two counts of manslaughter with a motor vehicle, in connection with a fatal crash in September that claimed the lives of two Canadian men.
According to a police report, Edward Brozynski, 54, was intoxicated at the time of the crash, which took place around 11:45 p.m. on Sept. 14, 2017. He was driving a 2010 Honda Accord westbound on Colt Highway, or Route 6, when he crossed a double yellow line and collided head-on with an eastbound 2014 Mazda 3 sedan.
Both rear seat passengers in the Mazda were killed as a result of the crash: Rejean St. Pierre, 66, and Benoit Boislard, 66, both of Quebec, Canada. Two other people were injured.

A warrant for Brozynski's arrest charges him with two counts of second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, two counts of second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, first-degree reckless endangerment and several motor vehicle infractions.
Bond was set at $275,000, and Brozynski is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court Tuesday.
