Newington Obituary: M. Theresa Castagna, 76

On Wednesday, October 19, 2016, M. Theresa Castagna, 76, passed away at Hartford Hospital from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

Born in Chicopee Falls, MA on February 20, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph & Lillian (Haffke) Ouellette. She was a longtime Newington resident where she was active with her condominium association, having served on its board of directors. Additionally, she had retired from Travelers Insurance Co. as a computer programmer. Her loving nature and concern for others led her to foster parenting, caring for children and canines in need.

Left to honor and cherish her memory are her children Melissa Connery and her husband James of Glastonbury & Lauren Windish and her husband Todd of Newington, her brothers Robert Ouellette and his wife Kathe of Tolland & Raymond Ouellette and his wife Margie of Clearwater, FL, grandchildren Chelsea, Shannon, & Alex Connery and Todd "T.J.", Alayna, & Bella Windish, and her adored canine companions Sheldon & Charlie. She was predeceased by her beloved sister Anne and brother Danny.

Relatives and friends are welcome to gather for visitation on Tuesday, October 25, from 9:00 until 11:00 AM at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave, Newington, with an 11:30 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial at Church of the Holy Spirit. Burial will be private.
