Newington Police Department National Night Out was started as a way to demonstrate to the community that underneath the uniform we are ordinary people who want to do what's best for those around us. The event gives us the opportunity to interact in a positive, non-traditional manner with members of our community. These positive interactions function to strengthen the bond between the men and women of our department and those whom we are privileged to serve. We value our relationship with the community and know that a strong police-community relationship is critical to our success.
