Newington Would Take $2.6 Million State Aid Cut In Latest Plan
Newington would see its state aid for fiscal year 2019 cut from $16.83 million to $14.28 million under plan unveiled Monday by the governor.

NEWINGTON, CT - The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.
Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.
For Newington, it would be a 15 percent cut from the previously approved $16.83 million total - to $14.28 million.
