• Worker at Newington Target store hid cellphone in bathroom to record staff, customers, police say (newstimes.com) — Shoppers and workers at the Newington Target are learning that police say a former employee secretly recorded people in the store's family bathroom over several days in March. Newington officers seized a cellphone hidden in a light fixture and later charged an 18-year-old New Britain man with multiple counts of voyeurism. Identified employees described feeling angry, frightened and more wary of public restrooms.

• Officers shot during exchange of gunfire in Newington (newportdispatch.com) — Two police officers were shot late Friday night after a vehicle chase ended on Webster Court in Newington, near the Rocky Hill line, and the suspect was killed. Both officers, from Hartford and Rocky Hill, were hospitalized in stable condition and one has already been released. The state Inspector General's Office is now leading the investigation into the Newington shooting scene.
