1,500 Bags Of Fentanyl Seized In New London Drug Bust: Police
Police also seized more than $3,300 in cash from the suspect, Tavarion Brewer of New London.
NEW LONDON, CT — A 22-year-old New London man was arrested on a host of narcotics charges early Wednesday after police said officers found 1,500 bags of fentanyl, thousands of dollars in cash and drug paraphernalia in his possession during a traffic stop.
Tavarion Brewer, of Franklin Street, was pulled over near Franklin and Jay streets just before 1 a.m. after officers found him asleep at the wheel of a stopped vehicle.
“Once awake, Brewer was observed attempting to conceal narcotic paraphernalia from an officer’s view,” New London police wrote in a statement.

A search of the vehicle turned up the fentanyl, which weighed 325 grams; $3,357 in cash; an electronic scale; a BB gun rifle; and other drug related material, according to police.
Brewer was taken into custody and charged with the following:

- Possession of narcotics with intent to sell
- Possession of narcotics
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Operating a drug factory
- Weapon in a motor vehicle
- Operating a motor vehicle under suspension
- Misuse of registration plates
- Failure to carry proof of minimum insurance
He was held in lieu of an undisclosed bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court at a later date. New London police offer a reminder that all people are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
