1 Dead, 3 Hospitalized In New London Crash: Police

Police have identified the man who died due to his injuries in an accident over the weekend.

NEW LONDON, CT — A man was killed and three others were injured in a two-car crash in New London on Saturday night, according to police.

Police responded to the report of an accident at 11:49 p.m. at the intersection of Colman and Broad streets.

Four people were transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.

The driver of one of the vehicles involved was later taken to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment. The driver, Jason Poirier, 33, of New London, died due to his injuries Monday, police said.

An investigation into the accident remains active.
