1 Dead, Another Critically Injured In New London Shooting
Police said they are investigating the incident as a domestic violence and attempted murder/suicide.
NEW LONDON, CT — A 31-year-old man is dead and 30-year-old woman is seriously injured following a shooting at a New London apartment Saturday morning, the New London Police Department said.
The shooting was reported at an apartment in the 100 block of Hawthorne Drive around 9:34 a.m., where police found the man with one gunshot wound and the woman with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.
Both victims were treated on scene before they were taken to the hospital, where the main died and the woman is still in critical condition, police said.

Also in the apartment, officers found two children, ages 5 and 9, who were not visibly injured but were taken to the hospital for an evaluation, according to police.
"Preliminarily, our agency is investigating what appears to be an incident of domestic violence and attempted murder/suicide," police said.

The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, while the woman's identity will not be released as she is being considered a victim of domestic violence, according to police.
