1 Person Injured In Downtown New London Shooting: Police

NEW LONDON, CT — A person suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting in downtown New London early Sunday morning, according to police. Officers were dispatched to 194 Bank St. at about 12:45 a.m. on a report of a possible shooting.

Officers found shell casings and projectile particles in the road and on the sidewalk. A building and a motorcycle were struck by the gunfire.

Officers were told that a victim had been transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury. The incident does not appear to be random, according to police.

Police found a suspect vehicle in Montville. Police seized evidence at the downtown scene and in Montville. The investigation is ongoing.
