2 Charged In New London Child Abuse Investigation: Police
Two people have been charged in a domestic violence case and accused of keeping a juvenile in "inhumane conditions."

NEW LONDON, CT — Two people have been charged in connection with a child abuse investigation, according to police. A domestic violence incident at a New London home involving a juvenile victim was reported to police Jan. 29.
The juvenile victim was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital due to injuries sustained and malnourishment. The victim was later transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital for further treatment. The victim survived the injuries.
Police said an investigation uncovered that the juvenile victim was "reportedly subjected to living in squalor, inhumane conditions, and the subject of abuse for a duration of time," according to a police statement.

Michael Gregor, 41, formerly of New London and now living in East Lyme, was charged with first-degree strangulation, second-degree assault, cruelty to persons, risk of injury to a minor, unlawful restraint, and reckless endangerment. He was arrested March 23 and held on a $750,000 cash surety bond.
Melissa Gregor, 38, of Moodus, was charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint, conspiracy to commit cruelty to persons, conspiracy to commit first-degree strangulation, and conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment. She was arrested Thursday and released on a $250,000 cash surety bond.
