2 Injured, Dozens Displaced In New London Apartment Building Fire
Two people were taken to the hospital and dozens of apartments were damaged in a fire Wednesday night.
NEW LONDON, CT — A large fire broke out at a New London apartment complex Wednesday night. The blaze hit the Villages at Shore Landing on Nautilus Drive around 9 p.m.
Firefighters arrived at the address to find heavy fire showing from the back of the building, according to New London Firefighters L-1522.
The fire displaced dozens and damaged 44 units, according to WTNH News-8. Five of those units suffered severe damage.

Two people were hospitalized, NBC CT reported. Nearly 70 New London firefighters were at the scene, and several other fire departments also responded to the fire.
American Red Cross was at the site helping families.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze, according to the firefighters' union.
